I get you’re entitled to your opinions. We all got them, regardless if you’re in the competition or not.
But please don’t dismiss the mod’s labour to make this OCT happen, and senselessly bash it. There is a difference between constructive criticism, and then complaining to make yourself feel…
Goes for any OCT really.
People running them don’t get any reward for doing so. They don’t get paid. There is no prizes for them. But they put in their time and effort for others to have fun and socialise around a shared interest.
If you don’t enjoy what a OCT is doing/ providing, then don’t do it - no one is forcing you to enter them. But please, have some respect for those running such massive projects and the effort they put into doing so.
This. So much all of this.
Us mods are human too you know. Personally, I’m more sensitive than most, and getting a long, drawn out “critique” bashing the intro I worked hard on really dampens my mood. A lot.
Though I’m very busy with school, commissions, and my own projects, I still try to contribute my best toward this OCT, and I do that for free.
There is a fine line between crits and complaints, especially when those “crits” are not constructive and were not asked for.
I haven’t made a lot of time to tell Val’s story gradually, and I don’t see how adding some of it into an intro is a problem. It’s better to give a story of his motives for finding Lugia than having him pull it from his pocket out of the blue, no?
Long story short, please be considerate and try to stand in our shoes before criticising our work.

((Aw, thank you so much! Best wishes to you too for the holidays and new year >v</ ))
Draw me like one of your french soldiers by *Porcubird
Still thinking the pinup of Val’s moustache alone would have been hotter. OH WELL.
Enjoy Johto officer shenanigans.
Reblogging because it’s not appeared on my dashboard.
“Well done, mes amis.”
((I know this round was quite brutal in terms of the amount cut. So I just want to say that I enjoyed reading every entry that came in this round.
You should all be proud of yourselves and regardless whether you passes or not I hope you still enjoyed participating in the round and crafting your entries. I know you’ll probably be a bit down in the dumps for a bit, but you’ll bounce back soon enough. And I know you’ve gained some great experiences from the tournament.
Ah, and it saddens me how many of my own faction were cut from the competition, but that’s an OCT for ya. I sketched this little something while judging.
On another note, I’ve been busy myself with IRL things and other commitments, but Val does have a story that I’ve been neglecting to tell. But recently I’ve tried to get old art together to attempt to remedy the situation. So if you still have interest after all this time, you hopefully won’t have to wait much longer, and hopefully I won’t disappoint.))
